WELCOME TO ECAMA The Economics Association of Malawi (ECAMA) is a voluntary organisation with its own Articles of Association and Constitution. The Association was launched on 27th of February 1999. It is a forum of Economists in Malawi and other interested parties who meet to discuss economic issues, provide policy analysis, improve economic management, and advise decision makers. The main function of ECAMA is to encourage open/proactive debate and policy dialogue on economic issues among economists, the business fraternity, politicians, public and quasi public sectors in Malawi. This necessitates that it works in partnership with Government and closely with parastatal and private bodies, the civil society and the political economy and other associations. From these contacts, it has the opportunity to ensure that the understanding of economic issues is promoted and enhanced by all parties in the country. It draws its wealth from its membership base that originates from the private sector, university, individual economic consultants, government civil service, economic experts from parastatal and international organisations and SADC region. It is therefore well acknowledged and recognised that it is an institution that s well embodied with expertise on economic matters and as a result used for relevant consultancies and research in Malawi.
