Paris Saint-Germain extended their unbeaten streak to 14 games after beating Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbane 5-1 in Ligue 1 on Sunday (February 6).  It was a clinical performance for the visitors when Portuguese midfielder Danilo made a brace to help some of his hosts' weak defenses and Presnel Kimbey also made his name on the scoresheet.

In the first half, Sven Boutman leveled for Lil' mid-table.  There was a good response from PSG after Nice on Monday pulled out of the French Cup, taking a 13-point lead in the title race in Marseille after 23 games.

Albasan Rashani scored the winning goal for the visitors in just 13 minutes of full time as third-placed Nice defeated Nice at their home ground in lower Clermont.  Bordeaux's poor season continued when they lost 5–0 at Reims and finished the game with 10 men after a red card to Danilo Ignatenko.

Zimbabwe midfielder Marshal Munetzi scored twice for the home team, while Hugo Ekitic, Azhar Matuziva and Wat Face scored twice.  Bordeaux are second on the list this season with just four wins from 23 matches.

Lorient were pushed out of the relegation zone with a 2–0 home win over Lens, while Sambu Soumano and Mali striker Ibrahim Kon, who had recently returned from the Africa Nations Cup, also scored.  Dimitri Leonard's goal in the 76th minute gave Strasbourg a 1–0 win over Nantes, while Rennes fell one place after a 2–0 home win over Brest.

Martin Terrier took the lead in the second half, with Gaithan Laborde scoring in the first half.  In another match on Sunday, Trois and Metz drew 0-0.
